OSSD – Ontario Secondary School Diploma

International Recognition: Accepted by Top Universities Worldwide

Compared to China’s National College Entrance Examination, A-Levels, IB, and other programs, the OSSD offers irreplaceable advantages, making it particularly well-suited for Chinese students.

Flexible Assessment System:Employs a comprehensive scoring model combining “formative assessment + summative assessment.” Regular assignments, classroom participation, and project tasks account for 70% of the grade, while final exams contribute only 30%. This effectively mitigates the risk of “one exam determining one’s future” and better showcases students’ comprehensive abilities.

Curriculum Difficulty Alignment: Courses balance academic rigor with practical relevance. Core subjects align with Chinese high school knowledge, enabling Chinese students to transition smoothly without starting from scratch. Students can also choose courses in their strengths to leverage their advantages and boost their GPA.

Language Requirement Advantage: No Gaokao scores are required. Grade 12 English (ENG4U) grades fulfill language requirements, and some Australian universities waive IELTS or TOEFL scores.

Streamlined University Pathway: As a non-exam-based curriculum, OSSD students apply to universities as Ontario high school graduates, enjoying higher acceptance rates and priority admission channels. Some institutions even offer exclusive scholarships for OSSD students.

Enroll at Brooklyn College and apply to North American universities as an Ontario high school student. Enjoy priority admission to Ontario universities, with the largest number of available spots, facing less competition, making it easier to stand out, and qualifying for a higher proportion of scholarships. The Ontario Secondary School Diploma and university preparatory course credits awarded by Brooklyn College are recognized by prestigious universities in all developed countries in Europe and America. Graduates can advance to top-tier universities worldwide.
