Complete 1 credit from the following:

  • Business studies
  • Computer studies
  • Cooperative education
  • Mathematics (in addition to the 3 compulsory credits required)
  • Science (in addition to the 2 compulsory credits required)
  • Technological education (in addition to the 1 compulsory credit required)

* Subject to substitution at principal’s discretion in accordance with Ontario Secondary School Diploma requirements.

1 credit in Technological Education required — may be taken in either Grade 9 or Grade 10.

In the OSSD system, universities evaluate your Top 6 Grade 12 courses. We help you choose the right path and apply with confidence.

University Prep

Students aiming for prestigious universities worldwide need to earn at least 6 Grade 12 courses — plus up to 2 additional courses depending on English proficiency — with guidance from Brooklyn.

The Top Six

"Top Six" refers to six senior Grade 12 OSSD U/M courses averaged to determine your admission average. It's based on required and elective courses — and varies from school to school, program to program.
