Hello everyone this is Yini Zhou, and I am graduate student from Brooklyn College, and this is my great honor to graduate successfully in 2021, and being admitted to my dream university. Of course, I really thank my high school Brooklyn College. So now I would like to share with you about my experience of living and studying in Brooklyn for the last two years. The most important thing to choose a school is to look at its overall， environment and learning atmosphere. In order to get a better education, I choose for Brooklyn. I have learned a lot during the two years in Brooklyn but what I like the most is that teacher in Brooklyn, and I really appreciate and respect every teacher. Many schools do not pay much attention to each student’s learning progress were metering. However, in Brooklyn, every teacher is very responsible. If you have any problem you can communicate with the teacher using email or just talk to them after the class, and including the school guidance teacher who are really responsible and professional when we need and we have some problems in our studies or our life, teachers will provide us with a lot of large help. The school has an independent dormitory including lunch and dinner, and school bus will pick up the students from school in the morning or after class. Even living alone in foreign country, we can let our parents feel save and don’t let them worry about too much.
So I think this is very considerate because not every school can do this. The most important thing is that I have successfully complete my senior high school in Brooklyn. My major of my university is media. Many schools they don’t have the specialized course I need but the course in Brooklyn are very diversified which enable me to apply smoothly, so we are all facing getting into college and university, and the school are very professional and responsible when it comes to applying for college or university. Because it is the first time for each of us, the teacher of the school can provide us with a good opportunity and help to apply for the university or in future to face this problem and difficulties by ourselves. During my two years in Brooklyn, I participate in the schools painting activity, showing my collection of work in the school. Although, I’m not a painter but I think it is very fair for each student can be created, you can create your own work into our class and display them in school. I think this confidence and growth is very important for us to help, sometimes the school will hold every year lots of volunteer activities. Let us resume by participating in more public activities organized by government. I think it’s very good growth experience for every student, that is really important for students who is studying in Canada and then finally it is about my grades and the university I was admitted to the teachers in school gave me a lot of encouragement so that I also applied for university in U.K. I was honoured to receive the offer from university of London. Without the help of these teachers, I might not have known that I could get an offer for such an excellent university; however I finally chose the University of Toronto (UOT). After all, it is my dream to stay true to my organize dream and it is also more suitable for me because university of Toronto is also the top university in Canada and I have also get some letters from other universities such as Macmaster, Waterloo, Western, Ryerson. I do think that something it is very important part of myself of says I came to Brooklyn. At least, I hope every student should not be fear or worry too much that you will not be difficult to look in Canada. Because we will all face a lot of pressure and problems in study both in China or in Canada, so as long as we study hard put the flat status of mind to face life towards our dreams and goals to work hard while have good results, just let the school to fix the problem or difficult, the only thing we have to do is work hard and study well!
